Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

What is a Digital Product Passport?
A Digital Product Passport (DPP) is a digital information system holding comprehensive data about a product's lifecycle — its components, materials, substances of concern, environmental impact and supply-chain traceability. Each product gets a unique identifier and a data carrier (e.g. a QR code or GS1 Digital Link), and the passport is built on open, interoperable standards and linked to the central EU registry. It enables full transparency and supports sustainable product management across the entire value chain.
How safe is my data?
DPP.COM.PL uses blockchain to guarantee data immutability and authenticity. All data is encrypted with enterprise-grade security and access is controlled by authenticated user roles. Your sensitive supply-chain information is protected with the highest security standards.
Which product categories are supported?
We support every major product category, including electronics, batteries, textiles and apparel, furniture, automotive parts, construction materials, packaging and many more. Our platform is designed to handle any product type that requires sustainability tracking and compliance.
When do I need to comply with DPP rules?
ESPR obligations (the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation, EU 2024/1781) apply in stages, through delegated acts for successive product groups. Among the first groups covered by the Digital Product Passport are textiles and apparel, furniture, and iron, steel & aluminium — the first obligations fall roughly between 2026 and 2028. Batteries, by contrast, are covered by a separate Batteries Regulation (EU 2023/1542): the battery passport becomes mandatory on 18 February 2027. Early adoption gives you a competitive edge and ensures a smooth transition.
What is the difference between DPP and EUDR?
DPP covers transparency across a product's entire lifecycle, while EUDR focuses on preventing deforestation in the supply chains of 7 specific commodities (coffee, cocoa, wood, etc.). Our platform supports both — you can manage DPP and satisfy EUDR requirements for the relevant products simultaneously.
What integrations are available?
DPP.COM.PL integrates with the main ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics), PLM platforms, e-commerce platforms (Shopify, WooCommerce), repair networks, recycling marketplaces and sustainability reporting tools. Our open API enables custom integrations.
How long does implementation take?
A standard rollout takes 4–8 weeks depending on existing systems and data complexity. Our team provides full support, including data migration, system configuration and user training. Most customers see benefits within the first month.
Can I start with just a few products?
Yes! You can begin with a pilot implementation on selected product lines, then gradually expand the scope. This is the ideal approach for companies that want to test the system and build experience before going all in.
What data do I need to provide?
You need product specifications, material composition, information on substances of concern (SVHC), supplier information, manufacturing processes and environmental-impact data. Our platform can help you collect and standardise this information from existing systems and from your suppliers.
What if I don't implement DPP on time?
Failing to comply with ESPR can lead to penalties, EU market-access issues and loss of competitive advantage. Companies without DPP may be seen as less transparent by customers and business partners. Early adoption protects against these risks.
What benefits does DPP bring to my customers?
Customers can scan products to access complete lifecycle information, including sustainability metrics, repair instructions and recycling options. This transparency builds trust and helps customers make informed purchasing decisions.
Will I get support in my language?
Yes! We offer full technical and onboarding support in both English and Polish. Our team understands local market specifics and can help tailor the solution to your business needs.
How much does it cost?
Pricing is based on product volume and integration requirements. We offer flexible plans, from basic compliance to enterprise solutions with advanced analytics. Most customers see ROI within 6–12 months thanks to improved efficiency and compliance.
Isn't blockchain bad for the environment?
Our platform uses energy-efficient blockchain solutions based on Proof-of-Stake plus hybrid IPFS-backed storage. This dramatically reduces energy consumption compared to traditional blockchain networks, while preserving all the immutability and security benefits.
